The Old Fort dates back to the late 1700s and today serves as the community clubhouse and restaurant. The clubhouse itself sits perched on top of a ridge overlooking Nassau’s most beautiful beach while shaded by an enormously beautiful silk cotton tree. The community consists of canal islands, beachfront estates, and Club Villas. Amenities include a gourmet restaurant, gym, small marina, tennis courts, beach facilities, playground, and parks.
Sandyport
Sandyport’s development website describes the community as “A gated community built in a single distinctive architectural style on a pedestrian scale. The result is a balance of style and nature that feels human and personal.” The community is located on the outskirts of Cable Beach and within close proximity to the international airport. Sandyport is very popular with expats moving to the Bahamas for their first time. It is more affordable than the first 4 on our list while still offering similar amenities and services.
